Nobody reads academic poetry; nobody should read much of the current ‘poetry’ on social media. Popular engagement with poetry has become backward-looking, rightly seeing that we have failed to progress since the days of Modernism. Oort seeks to escape the institutional incentive structures which have castrated poetry, tapping into the tremendous creative potential of the free Internet. Furthermore, Oort hopes to bring poetry to an audience of intelligent, dissatisfied readers who had written off the art. Oort is here because of you, and the part of you that needs the truths of poetry.

That is a mystery. Each poet shall be credited as their poems are published.
